Brock Keen takes his Range Rover Classic off the charted path to make exceptional memories including one very special road trip.
To drive further, to act on impulse—these are just some of the motivations a Land Rover vehicle can inspire. For Brock Keen, the desire to go beyond charted paths has expanded not just his hobbies, but his family as well.

“Of course, it was raining like crazy when we reached Yosemite National Park, but the sun came out once we got to El Capitan meadow. It was just the perfect place to exchange vows.” A secluded wedding in the middle of nowhere was a perfect fit for nature lovers Brock Keen and his now wife, Sara. But he didn’t pull the event off by himself. The epic 3,000-mile elopement road trip all came together with the help of his classic 1991 Trocadero Red Range Rover.
Brock had never considered himself a road trip kind of guy. An avid hiker and camper, he loved getting out and enjoying nature, but as he soon found out, sometimes you can’t get as far as you want to on foot alone. Fast forward to today, and Brock—along with Sara and their dog Lucy—spends most of the year in their Range Rover classic.
They purchased the car sight unseen in 2017. Brock wanted a vehicle that could keep up with them in the outdoors, but he wanted something more iconic than your typical SUV. “Growing up, I was always into the look of the Range Rover. It has all the capability you love about Land Rover vehicles but it’s just so much more luxurious.” Brock flew down to San Diego, hoping the vehicle would be up for the challenge of driving him home to Oregon. “After seeing how amazing it was, I was looking forward to taking the scenic route home.”
But the Range Rover didn’t just introduce them to new trails. The couple found themselves initiated into a close-knit community of fellow Land Rover owners. “There’s more to this brand. I go to owner meetups and there’s these people that have chosen these amazing vehicles. It evokes this unique feeling of family you wouldn’t expect from an automobile brand.” It’s a supportive group that doesn’t shy away from sharing a hot cup of coffee from their tailgate or pulling someone out of a tough situation.
"I know every time I get in, I’m going out and accomplishing my dreams.”
When asked about the destinations they chose, Brock explains, “We’re looking for solitude. To escape the hustle and bustle and be alone with my thoughts is a really rewarding experience.” He admits that there’s a fairly long list of places to visit, but he can’t wait to get started with his wife, his dog and the Range Rover. “We’ll keep our Range Rover forever. We built amazing memories in it.”
