Throughout your choice of 10-day or 14-day experiences behind the wheel of the new Land Rover Defender, you will tour through the breathtaking Skeleton Coast National Park to experience thrilling beach drives and rooftop camping above your Defender, and enjoy ancient Himba culture and the breathtaking Epupa waterfalls.   • 10-DAY TOUR

    From the shorelines of Swakopmund to the bustling Namibian capital, Windhoek, your 10-day adventure encompasses the very best that this amazing country has to offer. Highlights include the jaw-dropping Etosha National Park, spectacular shipwrecks of the Skeleton Coast, and the beautiful mountains and waterfalls of Kunene.

  • 14-DAY TOUR

    The 14-day excursion features the same magical sights as the 10-day itinerary until you reach the Etosha National Park, where you will then head further into the Namibian wilds for four more days of incredible cultural diversity, majestic wildlife and extreme landscapes. Additional highlights include the Erindi Game Reserve and iconic Burnt Mountain.


To ensure you have the most comfortable and safe experience with us, all Land Rover driving programs adhere to the Namibian government's latest COVID-19 guidelines. Our current processes are outlined below.


    Rest assured, if your Land Rover Adventure Travel trip is canceled, a full refund will be provided. In addition, if you are no longer able to travel, your experience can be postponed to next season, subject to availability. Alternatively, you can request a cancellation subject to our standard cancellation charges and Terms & Conditions.


    Using the latest non-contact technology, all guests will be required to have a thermal temperature screening upon arrival. Guests with a temperature of 100°F or higher will be asked to reschedule their experience to ensure the safety of all other guests and staff.


    The interior and exterior of every vehicle will be cleaned and sanitized with antimicrobial disinfectant products before and after each driving experience.


    Masks and a personal bottle of hand sanitizer are available for each guest during their experience. Individuals from different households must remain at least six feet apart at all times.

  • Who Operates the Trip?

    The Land Rover Experience Adventure Travel Namibia program is operated by Agentur für Promotion und Service GmbH (APS) / Land Rover Experience Germany, who are licensed and authorized by Jaguar Land Rover. When you book your experience, you will enter into a contract with APS GmbH.

    Who does the driving?

    You do! There will be a Land Rover Experience instructor on hand to provide guidance and support, but these are self-drive itineraries, so you’re behind the wheel in the latest Land Rover vehicles.

    What language will the trips be delivered in?

    The instructors/hosts will communicate with guests in English.
  • Do I need to purchase insurance to be able to participate?

    We recommend a comprehensive travel insurance.

    What is included in the price of the trip?

    General inclusions are as follows: driving activities, accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, drinks with meals and airport transfers to/from Windhoek Airport (one fixed transfer arrangement for the whole group). Please refer to your individual tour itinerary for the exact inclusions. Please note that due to the level of driving involved, alcohol is only included with your dinner and will be limited. Soft drinks are included with all meals.

    What isn’t included in the price of the trip?

    Flights, visa fees (if required), vaccinations, travel insurance, tips, all personal expenses (i.e. minibar in the hotel, spa treatments, etc.) and any pre- or post-trip arrangements that deviate from the tour itinerary.
  • I’ve never driven a 4x4 vehicle before or driven off-road, can I still go on the trip?

    Absolutely. There will be a qualified Land Rover Experience instructor accompanying you on each trip, who will provide expert guidance and reassurance. Each trip is designed for drivers of all abilities.

    Which vehicle will I be driving?

    Guests will drive the Land Rover Defender.

    Are the vehicles manual or automatic?

    All vehicles are equipped with automatic transmission.

    What are the driving license and minimum age requirements?

    All driving guests must be at least 19 years old and have held a full valid driving license for at least one year. An International Driving Permit is required.

    Do I need to have a certain level of physical fitness to take part?

    To participate in the Driving Experience you should ensure that you do not know of any circumstances that would disqualify you from driving such as chronic back problems (or similar conditions), mental conditions that might impair your ability to drive, eyesight that doesn’t meet the standards for driving, pregnancy or heart problems.

    How many guests are in each vehicle?

    Prices are based on two people sharing a vehicle. On request, a third and fourth person can be booked into the vehicle.

    Can I bring my own Land Rover on the Adventure?

    It is not possible to participate with your own vehicle due to insurance reasons.
  • If I am traveling by myself will I have my own vehicle?

    No. For safety reasons we do not allow anyone to travel alone in a vehicle. Solo travelers will be paired in the vehicle with another guest or, if there is an odd number of guests, one of our instructors will accompany you in the vehicle. You will have your own room throughout the trip.

    Are children allowed on the trips?

    In general, the trips are suitable for children over 14 years, but please contact APS for further details and to discuss your individual requirements.

    Can I book a whole trip for a private group?

    Yes, we will gladly facilitate a private tour for group bookings of 10 guests or more. The program can be tailored and adapted to meet the needs of the group.

    Do we travel in a convoy?

    Yes, we will generally travel in a convoy using radio communication between vehicles.

    What is the maximum group size on each trip?

    To maintain a more intimate and exclusive experience, the maximum (and minimum) group size on each adventure will be 10 guests (two per vehicle).

    Do I require a visa?

    APS GmbH is responsible for informing you about provisions of passport, visa and health regulations in advance. If you need an invitation to get your visa, please inform APS GmbH, who’ll provide this to you. For more information, please visit:

    Which currency is used in Namibia?

    The local currency is Namibian Dollar (NAD).

    We would like to extend our trip by a few days, can we do this?

    Is there a specific type of luggage I should bring?

    We do not make any specific recommendations with regards to the type of luggage—the vehicles can accommodate suitcases as well as travel bags.

    What is the dress code for evenings?

    Evening dress code is casual.

    What happens if a trip does not reach its minimum numbers? Will it be canceled?

    The minimum group size is 10 persons on all Namibia trips. We endeavor not to cancel any of our departures, but in some cases, this may be inevitable. APS can withdraw from the package travel contract if the number of participants is not reached by 31 days prior to departure, if a minimum number of participants is indicated in the APS travel description for the corresponding trip. The declaration of withdrawal will be forwarded to you immediately, the deposit will be refunded immediately. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more information.

    Your itinerary and accommodation are subject to change based on availability. We reserve the right to replace the itinerary and accommodation with similar alternatives.
