  • Defender demonstrating supreme geometry.

    GEOMETRY

Exceptional approach, breakover and departure angles. Shortened front and rear overhangs. The geometry of the Defender makes it supremely capable.

CAPABILITIES

OFF-ROAD

All-Wheel Drive, a two-speed transfer case, Electronic Active Differential and a larger tire family make the Defender our most capable Land Rover vehicle. Ever.

Some Defender vehicles shown may be European models with optional equipment. Vehicle trims and options shown may not be available in the United States. See your local Land Rover Retailer for details.

GEOMETRY

Supreme geometry strengthens the vehicle’s all-terrain capability. Its approach angle is 38 degrees. This is coupled with a breakover angle of up to 29 degrees and a departure angle of 40 degrees.

†With Electronic Air Suspension in Off-Road Height.

ON-ROAD

As competent on-road as it is off. Enjoy refined comfort with independent front and rear suspension and Electronic Air Suspension with Adaptive Dynamics.1

Defender wading through water.

WADING

The Defender has the ability to wade up to a depth of 35.4 inches, making water crossings possible.§ The Wade Program in Terrain Response raises the vehicle using Electronic Air Suspension. A 3D Surround Camera with Wade Sensing tells you just how deep the water is.1

Defender towing caravan.

TOWING

Respond to the toughest of demands with the 8,201-pound Defender towing capacity. Advanced Tow Assist also allows you to reverse a trailer while the Defender takes care of the counter steering.||

||Before towing, please consult the owner's manual or your local authorized Land Rover Retailer for more details.

Defender winch.

WINCHING

Pulling power and sheer strength are demonstrated with the remote-control electric winch. This has a maximum pulling force of 10,000 lbs. and can be operated up to 147 feet away.

¶Before using the winch, please consult the owner's manual or your local authorized Land Rover Retailer for more details. Available mid-2020. Not available with ‘A’ Frame Protection Bar.

Some Defender vehicles shown may be European models with optional equipment. Vehicle trims and options shown may not be available in the United States. See your local Land Rover Retailer for details.

§Driving in floodwaters or moving water should be avoided. Driving through water can be extremely dangerous. The Wade Sensing feature only detects depth of water the vehicle is in at the present time and not of water ahead or around the vehicle. Therefore, Wade Sensing cannot predict whether it is safe to proceed and cannot detect steep drops in grade around the vehicle. The driver is responsible for determining the conditions of the route being driven.
