The top down. The wind blowing in your hair. These aren’t the phrases one normally associates with driving in 28-degree weather. But in the Range Rover Evoque Convertible, there is little that can get in the way of your adventure. For these three photographers, the cold doesn’t limit inspiration as they explore some of the most scenic locations in Colorado.
Explore remote destinations to see three friends capture images of places people rarely get to see.
DUNTON HOT SPRINGS
Just across the mountain from Telluride lies Dunton: an 1800s ghost town with natural hot springs. A fitting reward after a beautiful ride through the Colorado mountains with the top down on the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. Along the way, Niki Csányi (@Niki_Csanyi), Grace Ban (@LaGracieuse) and Neil Britto (@ItsNeilB) reflect on the natural beauty of the surroundings along with the striking lines of the vehicle.
"When we arrived in Dunton I was really happy because all of us were very surprised how remote and how beautiful it is. This remoteness just makes you appreciate nature."
As they continue toward the remote hot spring, they make a few off-road stops to take in their surroundings and capture some photos. The Range Rover Evoque was designed for contemporary city life, but its Active Driveline seamlessly monitors key driving parameters to switch from 2WD to 4WD, making it tempting to embrace winter and get off the beaten path.
After arriving, the three settle in to relax in the waters of the hot spring under a light drizzle of snow.

OURAY FROZEN WATERFALLS
Day two. Time to wake up and take advantage of the morning light. Our group heads off to their next location, the frozen ice climbing walls in Ouray. Plenty of time to sit back and reflect on the journey and soak in every sight. And these ice walls are quite a sight to behold. But getting there is the best part.
"As a photographer I’m always looking for this vantage point that’s not the most popular one. I like to go off-road. I like to travel and explore as much as I can."
All-Terrain Progress Control lets the driver maintain a steady speed on these challenging mountain roads.1 Our group arrives 8,000 feet higher in elevation at the town of Ouray. They admire the climbers on the massive wall clinging tightly to the ice with spiked crampons on their boots and the trust of their capable belayers down below.
Before the ice park, the town of Ouray hibernated in the winter until a band of locals had the idea and the spirit to make the ice walls of the Uncompahgre Gorge even bigger. Now, over three miles of vertical terrain attracts climbers looking for a challenge and an escape from their daily routine.
Travel to 11,000 feet to get a unique perspective of the Million Dollar Highway.
THE MILLION DOLLAR HIGHWAY
The Million Dollar Highway is usually closed during the winter. Today, it’s wide open which offers the perfect opportunity to take in stunning 360-degree panoramic views.
The Z-folding roof of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible folds flush in 18 seconds at speeds of up to 29 miles per hour. This gives them a ride that is as relaxed as it is exhilarating. At 11,000 feet, they are surrounded by mountain peaks at every curve.
As they enjoy magic hour, the last light of the day, our group gets the last of their trip photos from the many overlooks on the breathtaking drive. In the comfort of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible cabin, they enjoy some tunes from the MeridianTM sound system, reflect on their experience and discuss future adventures.
