In Land Rover’s New Discovery Sport, follow the tracks of the Aborigines across fiery dunes, sandstone cliffs and ancient rivers of the Australian desert.

THE SPECTACULAR OUTBACK

On arrival in Alice Springs, you’ll be met by the team and introduced to the Land Rover fleet. You’ll then get to know your vehicle in the dramatic West MacDonnell mountain ranges, before heading back to base for a feast at the esteemed Hanuman restaurant.

After a good night’s sleep, we set off towards Finke Gorge National Park. Here you’ll tackle adventurous off-road along the course of the 350 million-year-old Finke River, and meander through the Red Gums and rocky creek-beds of Palm Valley. Then on to the oasis of Watarrka National Park, the backdrop to your stay at the panoramic Kings Canyon Resort.

Our adventure continues through the Outback to Ayres Rock, to an isolated dune near Uluru and the luxury glass-walled tentes of Longitude 131°. Under the constellations, absorb yourself in the travels of early Australian pioneers with maps and artefacts unique to your abode.

The journey moves south now, deep into the Pitjantjatajara Lands of Central Australia. You’ll test the New Discovery Sport on dusty terrain, past the formidable Mount Conner to Cave Hill, homeland of the Anangu people. Here, you’ll indigenous hosts will share Aboriginal culture and history, the fundamental principle of “Tjukurpa”, and the magnificent cave paintings of the Seven Sisters creation story.

Back at Longitude 131°, enjoy drinks on the Dune Top as the sun sets on an incredible adventure.
